Photohunt: Bulky
When I first read this week’s theme – I said “What?!!” Bulky – another theme that I just don’t think of when I take photos. So off hunting I went. I came across several pictures from a family reunion – camping trip that we took in 2008 to Eastern California. Camping – it seems like everything you need for camping is so bulky when you try to pack it up in the car or assemble it.
I had this series of photos of the group putting together a canopy. This was not one of those ‘Easy-up’ brand but instead a $10 canopy that my niece got at ‘Big Lots’. It seemed to take most of the group to put it together and it was soooo bulky to move. Once it was up it was fine and stood up to a Sierra thunderstorm. I do wonder if she has been able to use it again. It was one of those items that you use once and it never is as good the second time.

Oh Marta, I feel the same way! I like camping, but all the packing, UGH!!
I’m finding it very odd that I have received only one comment for my PH today, when I have visited over 60 blogs…. could you possibly leave me a comment, see if you are able to do it? I wonder if there is some kind of glitch?? It seems odd that I have no comments.

WOW, that “tent” shelter was a good find ($$wise, for your niece) but may have taken a lot of “bulk” to put up too.
I had a hard time coming up with a photo too.. so had to hunt all morning… I better start looking for jiggly… LOL

I think you had the best job as photographer! I haven’t been camping since I spent six weeks in my 20s camping in a pup tent throughout the national parks. Can you say ‘traumatized’? m

Great choice for a difficult theme. A $10 canopy is a great find even if it took a bit of time to assemble.
I love camping but dislike the process of setting up and taking down. And we always bring too much stuff!
