Semi-retirement
Today I was laid off. And it is a good thing. I have been unhappy at work and I had an opportunity to get a package. I took it!
I am now in transition and my last day will be in May. I really don’t have any definite plans other than to enjoy the summer. Come fall, I’ll look at school or potentially part time work.
Yipeeeeee!
What a good attitude on what others may see as a sad experience.
Any situation that includes the word “retirement” sounds really good to me. I just can’t afford to do such right now.
So congratulations on your semi-retirement!
Nice attitude! Can I say “congratulations”? Sounds like you are happy so that is all that matters! Enjoy a long summer and planning what comes next.
Oh my gosh, that’s wonderful. Now I’m going to be fantasizing about getting a lay-off with a package!
Marta – great news! I cannot help believing that things happen for a reason – what a wonderful opportunity to find something new and rewarding.
Judy
As Judy says, things happen for a reason and it seems you have good reason to celebrate! What an adventure, starting something fresh in the fall. Congratulations!
Thanks everyone. I am excited and scared at the same time. But I know this is going to be great.
Marta, you’re very talented so I’m sure whatever you decide to do it will be the right thing. It’s your time to be happy so have a nice summer and I’ll look forward to hearing about your plans.
Take care,
Kathy
Marta, what a shock! I am sure that after a good rest and recovery period you will come up with a more exciting way to earn your living. (I still can’t believe they would let someone as good as you leave!!)
