Photohunt: Twisted

This week’s Photohunt is Twisted. I had a couple of different ideas – twisted horns, twisty road but I’ve decided to go with the twisted glass art from Dale Chihuly. These shots are from his show last year at the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco. I love the lighting and the bright colors in addition to the twists and turns of glass.

Hi Marta, great chocies for this week’s theme. You photographed these so beautifully. The one with the reflection on the table is really cool!
Have a great weekend!
These are such great photos. I love his work so much and would love to see some of it in person someday. Perfect twists for the theme.
These are perfect for this theme! I missed seeing some of his work by one day when on a holiday in August – I was very sad about my poor timing.
WOW! I have never seen anything so beautiful before! I would love to see those in real life. I can’t even fathom how they are made. Incredible!
If you’d like to stop by my blog I’m at Cake Crumbs.
i love all your twisted pics. i’ve never seen anything like that before. those are incredibly awesome, the best entry i’ve seen today.
Hey wow! I did something of Chihuly’s as well today! How cool is that?
GREAT photos! I’ve only seen one of his works.
I hope you get the chance to see My Photo Hunt for today! Have a great weekend.
How spectacular! What an exhibition that must have been. Perfect, of course, for today.
Thanks for your earlier visit. 🙂
Chihuly is perfect — the boat of glass is especially perfect.

Those are amazing! So colorful.
Wow, perfect choice!! What could be better than these pictures of Chihuly’s works. I live here in Seattle and have pictures of his work on display around our city and did not even think of it.
Cool! But didn’t you do this already? I was going to say the top one looks like my hair, then had a deja vu moment.
Marta’s reply – Good memory – I did use this exhibit for colorful but added a new photos. 🙂
So stunningly beautiful. That first photo is certainly perfect for this week’s theme. The one with the reflection is captivating! I can’t imagine being able to create such works of art.

His work is fabulous, no doubt about it.
I have some photos of his piece at the V&A in London… I didn’t think about that one.
Great photos!! It almost seems like the glass is moving/dancing. Breath taking art, that I would love to see in person.
Beautiful art work — that I can see totally fitting into the “colorful” Photo Hunt theme too. 😉
Great photos! I can’t decide which design I like the best. They are all so cool! I would love to see his work in person some day.
By the way, you can find Banyon Trees all over Oahu.
I went to the Chihuly exhibit in the Phoenix Botanical Gardens about six months ago. Some of these pieces look very familiar, but it’s interesting to see them in a different setting. I used the blue one a few weeks back for the ripples theme http://faceme.wordpress.com/2009/08/23/photo-hunt-ripples His stuff is is breath-taking. Great choices for the theme.
Chihuly’s is always so stunning and inventive. These are perfect for the theme. Amazing shots!
I love Chihuly! His work is just amazing. Some of these pieces were brought to PHX but they always manage to look different, depending on the location. I love the colors in the second and third photo.
Chihuly’s creations are just gorgeous!
I originally saw some of his work at the Palm Springs Desert Museum and, of course, the ceiling art at Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.
Good choice for the theme!
