Photohunt: Fresh
This week’s Photohunt theme is Fresh. There are so many options for this theme but strawberries came to mind right away. I love this time of year when we get the large fresh strawberries from California.
I took this photo when I made Strawberries in Chianti with Black Pepper Ricotta Cream for the Sunday Slow Bakers. I think it is time to make the recipe again.
Have a great weekend.
Hi Marta, that is an amazing close up photo. Great theme selection. So sharp and the colors are so vivid. I love strawberries too.
Have a wonderful weekend.
You can almost taste them!
Oh what a marvelous photo! The light and shadows scoop in between the berries’ indentations! Beautiful, and fresh!
Thank you for visiting me last week. I am finally catching up! Have a blessed weekend.
Marta,
These look mouthwatering..
aloha,
i love your take on the current theme of fresh….love strawberry photo.
i loved reading your post on balboa park also:)
thanks for sharing
mmmmmmmmmsuch a delicious perspective:)
You have to love fresh strawberries. There is a wonderful u-pick farm just outside of Adelaide. They have a really long season, but it just ended–so no more strawberries until next November.
I tried growing strawberries in a pot in my front porch container garden but I didn’t have much success…
Beautiful photo! Strawberries – YUM!! I remember that recipe and your photos of the strawberries. Did you use a special flash when taking this photo?
Oh my – even the recipe sounds heavenly! m
yummy looking strawberries.
No – no special flash. I used light in my kitchen. It is a mixture of fluorescent and natural light.
What I did use was a macro lens (100mm Canon) and a tripod. I like it the best for shots like this and flower shows. The 50mm does a good job also.
Thanks Marta for the info. I am still going back and forth between the 60 and the 100 macro lens. The 60 is still winning for the weight factor. Lots of people talk about the need for a flash with macro as well as a tripod. I can’t picture carrying a tripod though when going to a garden or on a hike to take flower photos.
I am really looking forward to strawberry season. Beautiful photo.
I mainly use the tripod when I shoot photos inside (food) although I do take it outside in my yard at times especially if it is overcast. I don’t take the tripod on the trail or in public places since I have a heavy tripod. I bought mine long ago. I’ve looked at the newer tripods with the lightweight carbon materials but they are a bit too expensive for me right now.
The 60mm macro was not available when I purchased the 100mm. I’ve used a 50mm in the past and it was great. The 100mm ends up like a telephoto lens so you have a little bit of change in perspective and you have a shorter depth of field. This does make shooting in low light a more difficult with the longer lens. So the 50mm may be better for hand holding. It can also be used for portrait and general use that is hard with the longer lens.
Gorgeous shot!
