Menton
I just finished my review for our apartment in Menton. I had several questions on Slow Talk about the apartment and how I liked it. We loved it. We also loved Menton. It has a very unique micro-climate that is almost semi-tropical. We were attracted to the gardens in the area. Many are from the early 1900’s and in semi-states of repair. They are very moody and different from the neat and tidy gardens of the UK. The FĂȘte du Citron is coming up soon. I think it would be very cool to be able to be in Menton during the festival.
There is also a wonderful daily photo blog of Menton. Jilly does a great job capturing the wonder of the city. Currently she is doing a series of photos on Roquebrune a small village near Menton.
Previously she did a series of shots of Rue Longue – the street in the vielle ville where our apartment was located. The series brought back a lot of memories of our week in Menton.
Great photo! I remember passing through Menton on a train from Nice to Vernazza many years ago. Your post makes me want to stop there one day.
I;d love to learn more! I want to rent a place in Menton one of these years – maybe 2009.
