I have not yet received my permit letter from the Mt. Whitney lottery. It has been over two weeks since they charged my credit card for the application. According to the Whitney board, they are still working on the lottery and they may not be done until the end of March. Gesh!

I want to know the date so we can start to plan. I would like to find some place to stay in the Mammoth or Bishop area so we can do some day hikes. We also need to get permits for one or two day hikes. What a hassle. We will have to get air tickets, rent a car and get accomodations. Lots to be decided but nothing can be done until we have a date. Comeon Forest Service… send me a letter.
